"The Israeli Initiative" launches a comprehensive advertising campaign consisting of hundreds of billboards and Internet banners under the title "Don't give them guns – give them homes"
"The Israeli Initiative" headed by MK Benny Elon, National Union-Mafdal Chairman and Moledet Chairman, this week launches a massive advertising campaign, which seeks to place the solution to the problem of the Palestinian refugees at the center of the political agenda. This is the first ever Israeli campaign to present such a demand, consisting of hundreds of billboards, a comprehensive Internet campaign and an elegant PR booklet, which will be distributed during the first stage to thousands of decision makers and public opinion shapers – in Israel, in the USA, in Europe and in Arab countries. The campaign also includes extensive involvement of Members of the U.S. Senate and Congress and senior officials in Washington. The campaign is costing approximately half a million dollars and is part of "the Israeli Initiative's" wider campaign which is costing millions of dollars.

NU-NRP leader Benny Elon's diplomatic plan has not yet been debated by the cabinet or the Knesset, but it reached the floor of the US House of Representatives last Thursday when Congressman Dave Weldon (D-Florida) gave a lengthy speech endorsing the proposal.
Weldon suggested distributing the plan to all top US diplomatic officials; it calls for dismantling Palestinian refugee camps and granting Jordanian citizenship to West Bank Palestinians. He called the plan "a comprehensive proposal for finding an avenue to peace, as well as addressing the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people."
"The Elon plan is simple," Weldon said. "Working cooperatively with nations around the world, Israel and the international community will assist the Palestinian refugees to find new homes outside the camps. Why should Palestinians continue to languish? Support the Elon plan."

The Israeli Initiative said it was due to launch a massive advertising campaign "that seeks to place the solution to the problem of the Palestinian refugees at the center of the political agenda". Titled "Don't give them guns – give them homes", the campaign will consist of hundreds of billboards, Internet ads and a PR booklet that will be distributed during the first stage to thousands of decision makers and public opinion shapers in Israel, the US, Europe and in Arab countries.
"In recent years, the Israeli Left has succeeded in skillfully controlling the field of PR and public consciousness and has been awarded a monopoly on the concept of 'peace'. Therefore – it is a rare professional challenge – to lead a campaign that breaks the consensus and undermines the basic assumptions which characterize Israeli political thought since 1967, and to create a profound change in the public consciousness," he said.

Creativity is an essential part of the Israeli Initiative. Those who have already been exposed to its content – and the number of subscribers to our newsletter has already crossed the 10,000 mark – know that it is possible to think outside the box about the conflict in the Middle East, not via the worn-out and failed formulas of 'Two states for two people'. We are proud that our creativity is also being revealed in the Initiative's advertising methods. Within the first five days of the video clip's posting on YouTube, it reached seventh place within YouTube's weekly ratings and was viewed by more than 12,000 people within this period. This is especially impressive because it was achieved during a particularly crowded week in terms of the American electoral system. The Last Fanatic has received extensive media coverage, among others by Israeli Channel 2 News, SKY News, The International Herald Tribune, The Jerusalem Post and on the Metacafe website.
