CONVENTIONAL WISDOM says that in Israel, everything is politics. That being the case, there's nothing surprising in the fact that MK Benny Elon, chairman of the National Union Party, on Tuesday launched a million-dollar advertising campaign to promote "The Israeli Initiative - The Right Road to Peace."

Kansas Senator Sam Brownback announced on Wednesday that he was supporting “The Israeli Initiative: The Right Road to Peace,” a plan proposed by Rabbi Binyamin Elon, chairman of Israel’s right-wing National Union Party.

Today, Benny Elon, a member of Israel's Knesset, unveiled his own peace proposal called "The Israeli Initiative."

Elon, who also serves as the head of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus, believes this proposal will address some of the underlying, systemic problems of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

U.S. Republican presidential hopeful Sam Brownback on Wednesday endorsed a new Mideast peace plan floated by an ultranationalist Israeli politician that calls for Israeli annexation of the West Bank and encourages Palestinian refugees to move elsewhere.....Brownback... said it was "a realistic proposal and a different way forward."
